Data Usage & Caching

Caching Strategy

To improve performance and reduce API costs, we cache data from our providers:

  • Historical Dividends:7 days (stable data)
  • Recent 12m Dividends:1 hour (frequently changing)
  • Real-time Prices:5 minutes (market hours)
  • Company Profiles:24 hours
  • Portfolio Analytics:15 minutes (computed metrics)
  • Calendar Data:30 minutes (upcoming events)

Cached data may not reflect the most recent changes. For critical decisions, verify with official sources.

Data Limitations & Warnings

Market data is delayed by 15+ minutes or more. Real-time data requires separate subscriptions through authorized providers. Do NOT use our data for active trading.

❌ No Guarantee of Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, errors, omissions, and outdated data can occur. Third-party data providers may have bugs, incorrect information, or service interruptions.

📊 Incomplete Coverage

Not all securities have complete historical data. Some international stocks may have limited or no dividend history. OTC and penny stocks may lack reliable data.
